Art. 1 - NATURE, NAME, REGISTERED ADDRESS
The Foundation, called "NORD-SUD, FONDAZIONE PER LA SOLIDARIETA' INTERNAZIONALE ONLUS", a non-profit charity, is established under art. 14 of the Civil Code, in order to work, not for earning a profit, in the area of international solidarity and cooperation, taking inspiration from the concept of Christian fraternity as the foundation of the common human family.
The Foundation's is named onlus, which stands for non-profit organisation, and its registered address is in Bologna - Via Lame n. 118: it can have other branches in Italy or abroad.

Art. 2 - PURPOSES
The sole purpose of the Foundation is social solidarity, such as the promotion, support, implementation of solidarity and cooperation plans to the benefit of the populations of the developing countries.
In particular, the Foundation:

• Sponsors NGOs for the implementation of projects in the developing countries, especially those aimed at food self-sufficiency and generally the self-development of the local populations;
• Is in charge of initiatives to help populations affected by natural disasters or ravaged by conflicts;
• Promotes and supports welfare centres and facilities in the south of the world;
• Contributes to funding facilities and services in the developing countries for pursuing the statutory purposes in the area of international solidarity and cooperation;
• Promotes and carries out surveys and conferences about international solidarity and cooperation;
• Develops solidarity and information projects, some in Italy, especially in Emilia Romagna, about immigration and attendant problems;

The Foundation cannot engage in any activity other than its own official purposes.

Art. 3 - THE MEANS
The Foundation pursues its goals through its own assets, as listed in the balance sheet of the Foundation. Other means to pursue the institutional purposes include any further contribution in the form of personal property or real estate and revenue from such assets, which the Foundation can legitimately use, as a result of:

• Donations, gifts, legacies, purchase of personal property or real estate;
• Contributions from public bodies, boards, companies, individuals;
• Yearly or regular contributions and funds given to the Foundation for the pursuit of its official goals by private or public organisations.

The revenue and assets of the Foundation must only be used to pursue its purposes, pursuant to letters d) and e), paragraph 1, Art. 10 Law Decree no. 460, 4^th December 1997.

Art.3 Bis - SPONSORS
Sponsors include public or private bodies which contribute to supporting the activities of the Foundation; they include institutions, foundations, banks or otherwise, cultural and social centres. They can support the activities of the Foundation in other forms as well. The sponsors, which are recorded every year in a special registry by resolution of the Board of Governors, receive regular news from the Body about the activities of the Foundation and at the end of each year they receive a report on the management and the activities promoted by the Foundation. They may provide guidance or recommendations to the Foundation's Boards.
